The Allegany Almanac is a local, independent guide to everything happening in Allegany County, New York, across the 29 towns and 10 villages from Hume to Independence. It started as one Bolivar resident's way to stop missing things and get out of the house more.
How it works
A few times a day an aggregator checks 191 public sources, including news feeds, calendars, and county and town sites. It keeps only headlines, dates, short summaries and links. Every item credits the original source, and reading the full story means visiting them.
Standards
- Organic first: real local information, not clickbait.
- Police and court items come only from official public releases, with no names beyond what the release includes.
